Today a march will take place led by all sectors that are in conflict with the management of Javier Milei, criticizing his hate speech and regression in public policies related to women, dissidences, gender violence prevention, and labor quotas. The National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe, and Free Abortion expressed its support for the mobilization, reaffirming the importance of defending the right to decide about one's own life.
For its part, the Ni Una Menos collective joins the protest under the slogan "against hunger, looting, and cruelty," reaffirming its demands to the Milei government. Women and gender dissidences are expected to be the protagonists of this mobilization, expressing their rejection of impoverishment and the surrender of territories to extractivism.
As part of International Working Women's Day and the International Feminist Antifascist Antiracist Antipatriarchal Anticapitalist Strike, mobilizations have been organized in different parts of the country and the world. In the City of Buenos Aires, it is planned that the transfeminist movement will gather at Plaza Congreso and march to Plaza de Mayo starting at 4 PM. During the day, the importance of gender violence prevention programs and measures by the State will be highlighted.
The march will culminate in front of the Casa Rosada in Plaza de Mayo, where there is no plan for a stage or the reading of a unified document. Each collective and organization will carry its own slogans, but they will be united in the call. In this context, it has been pointed out that Milei's management has been questioned for its ignorance and underfunding of policies related to voluntary and legal pregnancy termination, contraception, Comprehensive Sexual Education, and gender identity.
From the Observatory of Gender Violence "Now that they see us" it has been reported that in the first two months of 2025, 52 women and diverse people were murdered in Argentina. There is growing concern about the increase in femicides compared to the same period in 2024. The call for mobilization is backed by the urgency to confront the far-right, the economic and social crisis impacting vulnerable sectors of the population.
In summary, today's march seeks to highlight the demands and claims of various sectors of society, especially regarding the rights of women, dissidences, and the fight against gender violence. The presence of organizations, collectives, and feminist movements reflects the need to continue the struggle for equality and social justice.
